Hollingworth Ward (John Elliott Unit, Birch Hill Hospital)

Hollingworth Ward is an acute admissions ward for male adults of working age.

Hollingworth is part of the John Elliott Unit, a purpose built 42-bed mental health unit for people in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

The unit is a two storey building housing two single-gender wards, a fully equipped gym, multi-faith room, snoezelen, and therapeutic activity room.

The ground floor also houses a separate unit to accommodate clients brought in to the unit under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act (1983).
