We’re recruiting 40 new trainee mental health wellbeing practitioners to work within our adult community mental health services, early intervention team and primary care networks.
You’ll provide wellbeing interventions and coordinate care plans for adults with severe mental health problems, helping them live fulfilling lives.
You’ll receive fully funded training and a salary while you train (band 4), and a job in the service when you qualify (band 5).
While on the one-year training programme, you’ll spend one day a week studying at University of Central Lancashire and the remainder of the time (three to four days) working or undertaking specific training tasks.
Jemma Terrey started as a trainee mental health wellbeing practitioner earlier this year, in our Oldham East community mental health team, and studied psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Jemma said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to develop my career in mental health and support adults with serious mental health problems get the support they need. I’ll be delivering wellbeing interventions such as behavioural activation, which is about encouraging people to get back into activities they enjoy, plus helping them to develop problem-solving skills, how to improve their sleep and to help them build their confidence.’
