Today (7 September) is the start of our Great Big Thank You week – a chance for everyone in the Trust to celebrate, recognise and reflect on our personal and collective courage, kindness, ingenuity and determination this year.
Throughout the Great Big Thank You week, we will share inspiring stories, amazing achievements, some special surprises as well as countless personal messages of thanks to individuals and teams. We’ll also be doing a special thank you to our staff who have completed 20, 30 and 40 years of service.
Evelyn Asante-Mensah, our chair said: “Saying thank you is such a small and simple gesture but, to quote the Dalai Lama, “When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect toward others.”
“With this in mind, we wanted to do something special to thank our staff; while acknowledging that it has been a difficult time.”
The Great Big Thank You week will run from 7 to 13 September. As well as the opportunity to thank our staff, there we will also pay tribute to those we have sadly lost due to covid.
At 12pm on Friday (11 September) we will be holding a moment of reflection. This is an opportunity to ‘pause’ for a minute and to pay tribute again to all those who have died, as well as reflect on the wider devastating impact of covid-19.
Claire Molloy, our chief executive, added: “In the face of so many challenges and worries, the help and support our staff have given to patients, carers, families, our wider communities and colleagues is inspirational. Every single person has played a vital role in helping to keep essential services safely running.”
Each day of the week is dedicated to one of our fabulous boroughs. We have lots planned on social media on each day, so keep an eye out on all of our channels during the week.
