Our staff in Bury have been absolutely brilliant during the pandemic.
We want to say a Great Big Thank You to all of our teams in the borough, including our adult and older people's mental health, child and adolescent mental health, learning disability, rehab and high support and corporate services. And not forgetting those who provide vital support, including our maintenance and domestic staff and our porters.
A big thank you to you all!
Take a look at some of their brilliant achievements from over the last few months.
One of our fantastic volunteers has spent lots of time over the last few months keeping Cambeck Close short breaks service looking its best.
Holly Duffy has planted lots of beautiful flowers to keep the place looking bright and positive for service users.
Holly has also supported our team to run food growing activities for service users with learning disabilities. Thanks to this, the bungalow has an abundance of carrots, cabbage, spinach, broad beans and radishes ready to eat.
Brett Dean and Frances McCormick, psychological wellbeing practitioners, have used their creative video skills to help people improve their mental health.
In these illustrated videos, Brett and Frances explain some cognitive behavioural therapy techniques and how they help with stress, low mood and anxiety.
These have already been helpful as a taster for those joining groups run by Healthy Minds Bury, and are now available to watch on their new YouTube channel:
Maggie Thickett has praised the support her family and son, John, who has severe learning difficulties, have received from Cambeck Close short breaks service.
Maggie described the service as a godsend for how they’ve kept going throughout the pandemic.
Maggie added: “I’m so grateful to everybody here. They’ve done a fantastic job in keeping going.”

Selfless staff at Hope and Horizon units transformed an old patio area into a place to unwind.
Mary Power, Marie Murray, Zara Crowcroft and Deborah Middleton came in on their days off to brighten the space up; painting, decorating, cleaning and bringing in outdoor furniture.
Their kindness has created a lovely place for the team to take well-deserved breaks - complete with a relaxing chair swing.
Each day this week we're shining a spotlight on teams and staff that are based in each of our five boroughs.
