We currently have 63 apprentices, ranging from 17 to 61 years old - so you're never too old to start yours and Apprenticeship Week (3-9 February) is the perfect time to apply.
Rizwan Majeed, our ICT security manager, is currently completing a level 4 cyber security technologist apprenticeship. Read on to learn more in his own words:
“I’ve been working for Pennine Care since March 2010. I wanted to develop my skills in Information Security since the WannaCry attack in May 2017, the largest cyber-attack to affect the NHS.
The course has been designed with work life in mind, so you can manage both your work and your course. It has given me the opportunity to work with leading cyber security technologists from the NHS and other leading organisations in the UK.
The skills I’ve learnt have also allowed me to contribute to meetings on important cyber security forums. This has helped me learn more about good practices used by other organisations and new technology, to ensure our IT infrastructure is secure and accessible for all our services.
One of my biggest successes has been working with Greater Manchester’s cyber security team to secure NHS England funding, to invest in improving our cyber security. I wouldn't have been able to without the knowledge and skills I learnt through my apprenticeship.”
