Publication proves popular with Orchard patients

Occupational therapists Jordan and Stephanie Occupational therapists at Orchard House have found a new way to help people with their recovery and to reduce social isolation during lockdown.

With the day hospital closed, Jordan Burrell and Stephanie Leeks started publishing a weekly newsletter.

Each edition has advice based on recent struggles reported by patients; along with stories, puzzles and advice on things like better sleep, maintaining routine and mindfulness.

The response has been phenomenal, with the next edition always a key talking point during phone calls.

Every little thing is gonna be alright

Our Oldham learning disability team got creative with how they kept in touch with service users during lockdown.

The team used the positive vibes of Three Little Birds by Bob Marley to put together this fantastic video, complete with sign language. Give it a watch and see how much you can memorise.

Thay have also created a guide to making a self-soothe box, to help people stay well during a time of quick change. Click here to find out more.
