We're experiencing issues with phone lines for some services in Rochdale (01706 numbers).

Our network provider is working on the issue, but this may take a couple of days. Other local organisations are also affected.

Prospect Place

We are a low secure service with three individual low secure units on site. Each unit has 15 beds available to men aged 18 – 65 years old.

We work with patients who have severe and enduring mental health needs; some may also have additional needs such as illicit substance and/or alcohol misuse. We do not take informal admissions - if you are admitted to Prospect Place, you will be detained under the Mental Health Act and receive care and treatment.

Each unit is underpinned by the recovery model and the structured pathway support you to engage in a wide range of rehabilitation activities and therapy. Each unit aims to work with you collaboratively and in a holistic manner to identify your strengths, needs and risks.

To support this, each unit has a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) made up of different professionals. The MDT will empower and support you to develop strengths, skills, insight and positive coping skills, with a goal to step you down from secure services. We recognise the importance of social reintegration, and use positive therapeutic risk taking to safely reintroduce you into the local community.

The estimated length of a patient's stay is two years - however, we recognise each recovery journey is unique and this may vary. With your consent, we will also work closely with your family.

We're based on the Birch Hill Hospital site - click here for a site map.
